This is my grandmother's recipe. I have experimented with this recipe dozens of times. You really get a rich peanut butter taste. At the same time, the cookie is moist, not too sweet and soft.
If you cream a softer or even melted butter, you will get a flatter cookie that looks like this.

Cookie Dough

Makes: 14 cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of white sugar
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 1/4 cup of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Directions:
- Cream butter and both sugars together with a mixer
- Add vanilla and mix
- Add egg and mix
- Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and salt)
- Roll cookies into a ball and with a fork press the dough down into grid shaped lines
- Bake at 350 for 12 minutes
- Allow cookies to cool and add sugar on top
