Peanut Butter Cookies

This is my grandmother's recipe. I have experimented with this recipe dozens of times. You really get a rich peanut butter taste. At the same time, the cookie is moist, not too sweet and soft.  

 If you cream a softer or even melted butter, you will get a flatter cookie that looks like this.

Cookie Dough

Makes: 14 cookies
Ingredients: 
  • 1/2 cup of butter 
  • 1/2 cup of white sugar 
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar 
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla 
  • 1 1/4 cup of flour 
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt 
Directions: 
  • Cream butter and both sugars together with a mixer
  • Add vanilla and mix
  • Add egg and mix
  • Add the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and salt)
  • Roll cookies into a ball and with a fork press the dough down into grid shaped lines
  • Bake at 350 for 12 minutes 
  • Allow cookies to cool and add sugar on top
